St Andrew's Day 2007 Kids Ceilidh
Our first Kids Ceilidh was held in the Crown Plaza on St Andrews Day itself. It was a great success with children of all ages enjoying a range of dances from the relatively simple Military Two Step to the more complex Strip the Willow. The Hotel provided light refreshments but if the parents thought that they had come to have a wee cup of tea and a chat while the wains danced they were in for a shock! Adults were asked to lead each set for the Dashing White Sergeant and Strip the Willow and it was great to see whole families having real Scottish fun here in Oman. There were spot prizes for the kids of Caledonian Society tee shirts and the Chieftain himself was applying St Andrews flag tattoos to all who wanted them. The Ceilidh finished in traditional style with everyone getting together to sing Auld Lang Syne.
