The Caledonian Society of Oman is thought to be the oldest expatiate society in Oman being founded in 1976. The main aim of the society is to raise funds for both Omani and Scottish charities by organising high quality Scottish themed events.
Our three main events of the year are:
- The Burns Supper
- The Summer Ceilidh
- The St Andrew's Ball

Can you Help?
Dancing Instructor
Are you a qualified highland dancer living in Muscat with some
time to spare? If the answer is yes please contact us as we would
like to restart the popular Scottish Dance classes.
Event Sponsors
In order to offer our functions at competitive prices and raise as much money for charity as possible we are always on the lookout for new sponsors. If you can help us in any way, be it a cash donation or a raffle prize, please contact us.
PDO International Market Place
The International Market Place (IMP) organised by PDO is one of the largest fundraising events in Oman raising over 17,000 OMR in 2007 for local charities. The Caledonian Society would like to have a stall at the IMP to further promote Scotland in Oman and are looking for volunteers to help out. The IMP is expected to be in early December 2008. Coming Up
The Proclaimers Live in Muscat

5th June 2008 MM Promotions, Oman's international artist promoter is
bringing the Proclaimers to the Jabrin Ballroom in the
Intercontinental Hotel. Tickets cost 15OR or 50OR for a VIP

Whose Line is it Anyway?
May 20th 2008 MM Promotions are bringing the famous television show "Whose Line is
it Anyway" to the Crowne Plaza Muscat A limited number of tickets are available and are priced at RO12 per
